Zumax modular workstations are built around your floor plate, not a catalogue page. Cluster, bench and linear systems ship with a hidden steel cable spine, NRC 0.6 acoustic privacy screens and pedestal lockers running on Hettich soft-close hardware. We size to the column grid we measure on site, not a default 1200 x 600 module. Worktops are 25 mm engineered core in melamine or HPL with 2 mm PVC edge banding. The steel underframe is powder-coated with Paramount or AkzoNobel and BIFMA load-tested. Founded in 2008, Zumax runs survey, manufacture, delivery and install through one project manager per job.

Every workstation is cut, edge-banded, powder-coated and assembled under one roof in Ecotech III. No outsourced sub-assemblies and no white-labelled imports passed off as factory output.
Hettich, AkzoNobel, Marino on the spec
Pedestal runners and hinges come from Hettich, the steel underframe is powder-coated with Paramount or AkzoNobel, and worktop laminate is Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch. Lock sets are sourced from Hafele or Ebco. Real names on the BoQ, not generic shorthand.
2-year manufacturing warranty
A flat 2-year cover on manufacturing defects across the workstation system, including the steel frame, worktop and edge banding. Hettich, Hafele and Ebco hardware carries the manufacturer's own warranty in addition.
NCR own crew, BIFMA and IS standards
Delhi NCR installs are run by the Zumax crew on our own payroll. Pedestal hardware is BIFMA load-rated, the powder coat is 100-hour salt-spray tested and acoustic screens are fire-retardant to IS 11871.
ISO 9001 and 14001 certified, GreenGuard ready
The workshop is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, and GreenGuard and FSC documentation can be issued for tenders that need it. GeM, BIS and BIFMA paperwork is shared with bulk procurement teams on request.

Free site survey with laser measure
The Zumax surveyor walks the slab with a laser distance meter, tablet and material samples. We log column-to-column dimensions, cable tray routes, power risers and any HVAC drops that affect screen height.

Free 2D and 3D layout in 5 working days
Our in-house CAD studio of three designers returns a workstation plan against your actual grid, with screen heights, pedestal positions and grommet drops marked. Revisions are free until sign-off.

Once layout is locked, the Business Coordinator Team issues a written quote covering structure, worktops, screens, pedestals, cable spine and install. No design fee at any stage.

Cutting, edge banding, powder coating and assembly all happen at our 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Ecotech III. No outsourced sub-assemblies and no white-labelled imports. A 50-seat fit-out ships in 15 days from order confirmation.

Install with a 10-year workmanship cover
Delhi NCR installs run with the Zumax crew on our own payroll, included free. Outside NCR, a Zumax-supervised partner crew handles fit-out with logistics billed as actuals. Workmanship on the install carries a 10-year cover.
What goes into a Zumax workstation
- Steel underframe
- 1.6 mm CRCA steel underframe powder-coated with Paramount or AkzoNobel paint. Every frame is 100-hour salt-spray tested before it leaves the workshop, so it survives humid coastal sites without bloom or flaking at weld points.
- Engineered worktop
- 25 mm engineered core finished in melamine or HPL from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch, with a 2 mm PVC edge band that holds up to chair-arm knock and keyboard-tray rub. Anti-microbial laminate is available on call-centre and shared-bench runs.
- Pedestal hardware
- Hettich soft-close runners on every drawer, with Salice or Grass options on selected lines. The three-way central lock is sourced from Hafele or Ebco and the pedestal mechanism is BIFMA load-rated for desk-side storage.
- Acoustic screens
- NRC 0.6 acoustic fabric on an MDF core, with a fire-retardancy certificate to IS 11871. Heights run from 350 mm territory markers up to 1200 mm full visual privacy and the fabric can be matched to brand colours during 3D sign-off.
- Hidden cable spine
- A single steel cable spine runs the length of the bank, with screw-down access panels every two seats. Power and data cores run on separate channels to avoid EMI, and grommet positions are locked at the layout stage rather than improvised on site.
- Workshop standards
- All cutting, edge banding and powder coating happens at the Zumax 60,000 sq.ft Greater Noida workshop, which is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. GreenGuard and FSC documentation is available on request for tenders that require it.

How are Zumax modular workstations quoted?
Quotes are project-specific and shared after the on-site survey, since they depend on seat count, screen height, pedestal spec, finish and hardware. Send the floor plate dimensions and seat brief and the Business Coordinator Team will revert with a written quote within 24 to 48 hours.
What is the difference between a cluster workstation and a bench workstation?
A cluster workstation groups 4, 6 or 8 seats around a central spine with screens facing outward. It works better for departments that need their own zone. A bench workstation runs seats back-to-back in a long row off a single shared spine, which suits IT delivery floors and call-centre rows where seat density matters more than territory. Zumax ships both off the same hardware spec.
Are Zumax workstations BIFMA tested?
The pedestal mechanisms, soft-close runners and locking hardware are BIFMA tested for desk and storage load. The steel underframe is 100-hour salt-spray tested. Acoustic screens carry a fire-retardancy certificate to IS 11871.
What is the lead time for a 50-seat workstation order in Delhi NCR?
A 50-seat office fit-out ships in 15 days from order confirmation. The 2D and 3D layout is delivered within 5 working days of the on-site survey, at no extra charge. Tier-2 city delivery adds 2 to 3 days on top.
Can the workstations include hidden cable management?
Yes. Every Zumax workstation ships with a hidden steel cable spine that runs the length of the bank, with screw-down access panels every two seats. Power and data cores run on separate channels to avoid EMI interference. Grommet placement at each seat is fixed during the 3D layout sign-off.
What acoustic screen height should we specify for an open-plan office?
1100 to 1200 mm screen heights give a seated user visual privacy without killing line-of-sight across the floor. 350 to 500 mm screens read more as territory markers and are popular on creative-studio benches. All Zumax screens are NRC 0.6 acoustic fabric on an MDF core.
Do you supply workstations to offices outside Delhi NCR?
Yes. The 60,000 sq.ft workshop is in Greater Noida. Free delivery and install crews on Zumax payroll cover Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, supervised partner crews handle install and logistics is billed as actuals. The same Zumax project manager runs the survey and the build end to end.
What warranty applies to Zumax workstations?
Two years on manufacturing defects across the workstation system, including the steel frame, worktop and edge banding. The pedestal hardware from Hettich and the lock set from Hafele or Ebco carry the manufacturer's own warranty on top.
Can you match workstations to an existing office floor from another brand?
Yes. Zumax extends running floors built by off-the-shelf catalogue brands. We match the screen height, top depth, edge profile and laminate code so the new run reads as one continuous floor. Bring the original spec sheet to the survey.
Are sit-stand height-adjustable workstations available?
Yes, on a made-to-order basis. Pneumatic and electric height-adjustable frames with a 650 to 1250 mm travel range can be specified on linear and bench runs. Looking after your Zumax workstation
Wipe worktops with a damp microfibre cloth and a mild detergent. Skip abrasive scrub pads and solvent-based cleaners, which dull HPL and melamine over time.
Vacuum the acoustic fabric screens fortnightly with an upholstery brush attachment. Spot-clean spills with a barely damp cloth, never soak the MDF core.
Lubricate the Hettich pedestal runners with a light PTFE spray once a year. Check the three-way central lock cylinder at the same time and clean any dust ingress.
Lift, do not drag, the pedestals when reconfiguring the bank. Dragging loaded pedestals scuffs the floor and can twist the spine bracket out of alignment.
Open the cable spine access panel during any IT recabling so power and data stay on their separate channels. Resealing the panel correctly preserves the EMI separation.
