Within Delhi NCR the install is done by the Zumax crew on payroll. Outside NCR a Zumax-supervised partner crew fits the wardrobe to the same spec, billed as actuals. The workmanship cover on the install runs for 10 years.
What goes into a Zumax glass door wardrobe
- Tempered glass shutters
- Five-millimetre tempered glass sourced from Saint-Gobain or AIS, available in bronze tint, smoke grey, clear, frosted and fluted. Every panel goes through a single batch heat-strengthening run, so when it breaks it crumbles into blunt fragments instead of long shards.
- Sliding tracks and hinges
- Hettich tracks on every sliding build, with Salice or Grass available on select lines. Hinged shutters use Blum soft-close hinges. Drawer runners are Hettich full-extension on every drawer, no exceptions.
- BWP plywood carcass with anti-microbial laminate
- The carcass behind the glass is BWP plywood from Greenply or Century. Interior laminate is anti-microbial HPL from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch, conforming to EN 438 / IS 2046. The interior reads consistent under LED because the laminate batch is run together with the build.
- Walnut veneer interior option
- On the walnut interior option we use natural veneer sourced from Bhutan Tuff. Sheets are book-matched across the back panel so the grain reads as a continuous run when the bronze shutter is closed.
- Mullion finish and powder coat
- Brushed brass, anodised black metal and matte aluminium are the three mullion finishes. Metalwork is finished in Paramount or AkzoNobel powder coat that passes a 100-hour salt-spray test, so the frame holds up in coastal humidity without pitting at the joints.
- Locks and concealed hardware
- Where a lock is specified on a hinged build, the lever lock and bolt set are sourced from Hafele or Ebco. Sensor-triggered LED strips behind every shelf are 4000K neutral as standard and wired into a single concealed driver.

Are glass door wardrobes safe for Indian homes with children?
Yes. Every Zumax glass shutter is tempered Saint-Gobain or AIS, so it breaks into small blunt fragments instead of long shards. For families with young kids we add a PVB anti-shatter film at no extra cost, which keeps the glass held together even on impact. Frames are routed so there are no sharp metal edges at child height.
How are Zumax glass door wardrobes quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on wall dimensions, glass tint, hardware spec and interior layout. Send the dimensions and the Business Coordinator Team will revert with a written quote within 24 to 48 hours. There is no design fee.
Do glass shutters slow down opening compared to wooden doors?
No. Sliding glass builds run on Hettich tracks rated for heavy panels and engineered to stay silent through the full 10-year wardrobe warranty period. Hinged glass builds use Blum soft-close hinges, so the closing speed and feel are the same as a solid panel door.
What types of glass can I choose for the doors?
Five standard finishes: bronze-tinted, smoke-grey, clear, frosted and fluted/reeded. All are 5 mm tempered Saint-Gobain or AIS glass. Bronze and smoke read as the strongest finish for master bedrooms. Clear works best when the interior is consistently styled. Fluted is the current Indian design trend and hides everyday clutter visually.
Will the interior LEDs increase my electricity bill?
Negligibly. The standard 4000K neutral-white LED strip is low-draw and only switches on when a door opens, similar to a fridge interior light. The impact on a monthly household electricity bill is minimal even with lighting on every shelf of a full-height wardrobe.
Do you install glass door wardrobes outside Delhi NCR?
Yes. Zumax ships across India. Free delivery and on-site assembly are included within Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, installation is handled by Zumax-supervised partner crews and logistics are billed as actuals. Lead time on a luxury wardrobe is 15 days from order confirmation, subject to site readiness on paint and electrical, with an extra 2 to 3 days for Tier-2 city sites.
Can I get a walk-in wardrobe with glass partition doors?
Yes. The Smoked Glass Walk-In Wardrobe on this page is exactly that build. Bronze-tinted tempered glass shutters open onto a fully LED-lit interior with mixed double-hang and single-hang rails, a five-drawer central tower and open shelving. Walk-in formats include the integrated dressing light and full-length mirror at no extra cost.
How is a glass door wardrobe different from a glass shutter almirah?
A glass-shutter almirah is a freestanding storage unit, usually 4-6 ft wide, with internal shelves and one or two glass doors. A glass door wardrobe is a fitted, wall-to-wall build with hanging rails, drawer banks and a configured interior. Same finish family, very different storage capacity and fit.

Looking after your Zumax glass door wardrobe
Wipe the glass shutters with a soft microfibre cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Skip ammonia-heavy sprays around the mullion edge because the powder coat dulls over time if it sits in a wet pool.
Clean the laminate or veneer interior with a barely-damp cloth. No scouring pads, no abrasive cleaners. A drop of furniture wax on the veneer once a year keeps the figure crisp.
Run a dry cloth along the Hettich sliding track every couple of months to clear lint and dust. A single drop of light machine oil on the track wheels once a year keeps the slide silent for the full 10-year warranty.
Check the Blum hinge cup screws on hinged builds annually and snug them up a quarter-turn if there is any drop in shutter alignment. Soft-close should feel consistent across all shutters.
Keep the LED strip drivers clear of dust and avoid stacking soft luggage against the sensor — the auto-on feature reads movement and an obstruction at the edge will make it flicker.
