Zumax builds lecture hall furniture for Indian universities, autonomous colleges and corporate training campuses. Founded in 2008, we manufacture out of a 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Greater Noida. The catalogue covers fixed row seating with writing tablets, tip-up chairs for tiered theatres, and digital lecture hall desks with integrated monitor arms and under-seat power. Every row anchors to the slab with chemical fixings. Tip-up chair mechanisms are BIFMA X5.1 tested. Writing surfaces are HPL-faced over an 18 mm engineered core with 2 mm PVC edge banding, using laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch. Frames are powder-coated in Paramount or AkzoNobel paint and 100-hour salt-spray tested. Brief us on a flat-floor seminar room or a 300-seat tiered hall and the same project manager will survey the slab, draw the rake, manufacture the rows and oversee fit.

Named hardware on every station
Hettich hinges, Paramount or AkzoNobel powder coat and Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch laminate on the writing tablet. The spec sheet names brands, the tender pack lists them, and the installed row matches both.
2-year manufacturing warranty
A flat 2-year warranty on manufacturing defects across the lecture-hall range, with a 10-year workmanship cover on the install. No tiered splits, no fine print on hinges or castors.
NCR own crew, BIFMA + IS standards
Within Delhi NCR, our payroll crew handles slab anchoring, install and snagging. Tip-up mechanisms are BIFMA X5.1 cycle-tested, powder coat is 100-hour salt-spray tested and the fabric is IS 15768 fire-retardant.

We are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, with GreenGuard and FSC certifications on relevant lines. GeM, BIS and BIFMA documents are shared with bulk procurement teams on request so tender files come back complete first time.

2. Free campus site survey
Our surveyor visits with a laser distance meter, tablet and material samples. We measure the slab, check riser geometry, sightlines and the AV raceway path, and pull a 200+ swatch library if the estates team wants to handle fabric in person at the Greater Noida Experience Center.

3. Free 2D / 3D layout in 5 working days
The in-house CAD studio (3 designers) drafts the row plan, anchor layout and writing-tablet pitch. Layouts are revised free of charge until estates and the AV consultant sign off.

4. Written quote in 24 to 48 hours
One quote covers manufacture, finishing, freight from Greater Noida and install. We share BIFMA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IS 15768 supporting docs in the same pack for tender files.

Within Delhi NCR, the in-house Zumax crew handles delivery, slab anchoring with M12 chemical fixings and snagging. Outside NCR, a Zumax-supervised partner crew installs with logistics billed as actuals. A 10-year workmanship cover applies on the install.

- Tip-up chair mechanism
- BIFMA X5.1 cycle-tested tip-up assembly with silent return, sized for the seat-pan load of back-to-back batches. The pivot bushings are spec'd for cycle count, not just first-day feel, so the seat does not slam at year three.
- Steel chassis + powder coat
- CRCA steel row standards, powder-coated in Paramount or AkzoNobel paint and 100-hour salt-spray tested. Anchors to the concrete slab with M12 chemical fixings, never just floor screws, with a sample row load-tested before the full hall is fixed.
- Writing tablet substrate
- 18 mm engineered core with a 2 mm PVC edge band, faced in HPL laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch (anti-microbial spec available). EN 438 / IS 2046 laminate, sized to a 380 x 280 mm footprint or a 460 mm wide option for drawing sheets.
- Upholstery and foam
- Seat and back use 35 kg/m³ cold-cure moulded foam under IS 15768 fire-retardant fabric. The density holds shape across 14-hour contact days and the FR fabric is the spec most AICTE-approved campus tenders now call for.
- Hardware and hinges
- Hettich hinges on every flap, tablet and under-seat storage door, with Salice or Grass used on select runs. Hardware is selected to match the cycle load of a lecture hall, not a one-off seminar room.
- Cable management for digital rows
- Digital lecture-hall desks ship with a pre-cut under-seat raceway for power and data, plus an articulated VESA monitor arm at each station and an under-table CPU cradle. Standard pitch is 700 mm, compressible to 650 mm or open to 800 mm.

How is Zumax lecture hall furniture quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on seat count, upholstery grade, tablet material, riser depth and row anchoring method. Send the hall dimensions and AV requirement and we will revert with a written quote in 24 to 48 hours. A 2D/3D layout follows within 5 working days of the site survey.
Are Zumax lecture hall chairs BIFMA tested?
Yes. Tip-up seat mechanisms are BIFMA X5.1 tested. Upholstery fabric is IS 15768 fire-retardant, which most Indian universities and AICTE-approved campuses now ask for in tenders. Powder coat is 100-hour salt-spray tested. We are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, and we share GeM, BIS and BIFMA documents with bulk procurement teams on request.
Can you supply tiered lecture hall seating with continuous risers?
Yes. We supply tip-up row seating on continuous riser steps from 150 mm to 300 mm in rise. Rows anchor with M12 chemical fixings into the concrete slab, never just floor screws. We coordinate with the civil contractor on riser pour heights and aisle widths before we ship.
Do you make digital lecture hall desks with monitor arms?
Yes. The Digital/Smart Row Desk ships with an articulated VESA monitor arm at each station, an under-table CPU cradle and a pre-cut raceway for power and data drops. Standard pitch is 700 mm per station. We can compress to 650 mm for tight rows or open to 800 mm for postgraduate labs.
What is the lead time for a 200-seat lecture hall fit-out?
15 days from order confirmation for the bulk build, subject to site readiness. Tier-2 city deliveries add 2 to 3 days. Phased delivery is available where the contractor needs the hall released floor by floor. The written quote turns around in 24 to 48 hours and the 2D/3D layout in 5 working days after survey.
Do you handle installation and floor anchoring?
Yes. Within Delhi NCR, delivery, on-site assembly and install are free on bulk orders, handled by our own crew. Outside NCR, Zumax-supervised partner crews handle install and logistics is billed as actuals. Floor anchoring uses M12 chemical fixings into the slab, torqued to spec and load-tested on a sample row before the full hall is anchored. We hand over a fixing log signed off by the site supervisor.
Can the writing tablet fit a 15-inch laptop and an A4 notebook?
Yes. Standard tablet footprint is 380 mm x 280 mm, which holds a 15-inch laptop plus an A4 notebook to the side. We also offer an extended 460 mm wide tablet for engineering colleges that need drawing-sheet space, with an integrated pen stop on the leading edge.
Do you supply to government colleges and CPWD-funded campuses?
Yes. We supply against GeM listings, CPWD rate contracts and university PWD tenders. We provide tender-format documentation: BIFMA test reports, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates, GST invoice, HSN 9401, and PBG where required. Looking after your Zumax lecture hall furniture
Wipe the HPL writing tablet down weekly with a damp microfibre cloth and a neutral pH cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrubs and solvent-based cleaners as they dull the laminate and lift the edge band over time.
Vacuum the upholstery and seat foam once a fortnight in heavy-use halls. Spot-clean fabric with mild soap and water; do not soak the foam or use bleach, which damages the IS 15768 fire-retardant treatment.
Lubricate the tip-up pivot bushings with a light silicone or PTFE spray once every academic year. A 30-second wipe per row prevents creak and keeps the silent-return action consistent.
Re-torque the M12 slab anchors at year one and then once every three years. Snag any loose fixings to the estate engineer and the AMC team will replace bushings under the 48-hour call-out SLA.
Book the optional AMC for quarterly visits. Replacement parts are stocked at the Greater Noida workshop and ship within 7 working days if a station needs a swap.
