A single wall modular kitchen puts sink, hob and tall unit along one continuous wall. It is the honest answer for a 1BHK, a studio, or any flat where the kitchen shares air with the living room. Zumax has been drawing kitchens this way since 2008. Each single-wall build is drawn to your exact wall length in 100 mm increments. Every shutter and drawer runs on Hettich hardware. The worktop is quartz or granite with one clean joint, sourced through Hafele's stone partner network. The carcass is BWP plywood from Greenply or Century. Soft-close is standard on every door, and the chimney is sized to your hob during the site survey. No upgrade tiers. No surprise line items. Designed and built at our 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Greater Noida.

An NCR surveyor visits with a laser distance meter, tablet and material samples. Wall lengths, plumbing points, electrical positions and the chimney exhaust route are captured to the millimetre.

Carcass, shutters and worktop are built and dry-fitted at our 60,000 sq.ft Ecotech III workshop. The 15-day clock starts at order confirmation and assumes site electrical and plumbing are ready for install.

Across NCR, our own payrolled crew handles the install. Outside NCR, a Zumax-supervised partner crew fits the kitchen, billed as actuals. Workmanship is covered for 10 years from handover.
What goes into a Zumax single-wall kitchen
- BWP plywood carcass
- The base and wall units are built in BWP-grade plywood from Greenply or Century, the only carcass that holds up to monsoon humidity and steam under the chimney. Edges are sealed before assembly so the laminate does not lift around the sink cabinet.
- Hettich runners and hinges
- Every drawer runs on Hettich Quadro full-extension runners and every shutter sits on Hettich Sensys hinges with soft-close as standard. On selected lines we spec Salice, Grass or Blum where the appliance bay needs a specific clearance.
- Anti-microbial laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch
- Shutter laminates are sourced from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch to EN 438 and IS 2046, with anti-microbial options on the prep face. Matte laminate is the most common Indian choice because it hides daily wear and wipes clean.
- Quartz or granite worktop via Hafele's stone yard
- The worktop is quartz or granite, sourced through Hafele's partner stone yard, cut to your wall length with one clean 20 mm joint. The cutout under the hob is reinforced and a 600 mm seamless prep zone is held between sink and hob.
- Saint-Gobain or AIS tempered glass
- Where the design calls for glass shutter inserts or a back-painted splashback, the glass is Saint-Gobain or AIS tempered, finished to handle hob heat and the occasional knock from a wok handle.
- Samhongsa gas lifts and Hafele or Ebco locks
- Lift-up overhead cabinets use Samhongsa gas struts, the same class used on office chair mechanisms, so they hold position at any angle. Any lockable bay uses a lever lock and bolt set from Hafele or Ebco.

What is the minimum wall length needed for a single wall modular kitchen?
8 ft is the working minimum. That fits a 600 mm sink, a 600 mm hob, a fridge bay and at least a 600 mm prep counter in between. Go under 8 ft and the prep zone is the first thing to suffer. Zumax single-wall builds work cleanly between 8 ft and 14 ft of wall length. Past 14 ft, an L-shape usually gives you better value.
How are Zumax single wall modular kitchens quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on wall length, finish family, hardware spec, worktop choice and appliance bays. Send your wall dimensions and the Business Coordinator Team will revert with a written quote within 24 to 48 hours. Site survey, 2D / 3D CAD layout and design consultation are free across Delhi NCR. There is no design fee.
Is a single wall kitchen suitable for an Indian family that cooks daily?
Yes, for households of two to four people. What matters is a continuous 600 mm prep counter between the sink and hob, a tall pull-out pantry for masalas and grains, and an auto-clean chimney rated for Indian cooking. For joint families cooking three full meals a day on multiple burners, a parallel or L-shape layout is more comfortable.
What hardware brands does Zumax use on single-wall kitchens?
Drawer runners and tandem boxes are Hettich Quadro. Hinges are Hettich Sensys with soft-close as standard. On selected lines we spec Salice, Grass or Blum. Locks where needed are Hafele or Ebco. Gas lifts on lift-up overheads are Samhongsa. Glass on shutter inserts is Saint-Gobain or AIS tempered.
How long does a single wall kitchen take to install?
15 days from order confirmation, subject to site readiness on paint, electrical and plumbing. Everything is pre-fitted at the 60,000 sq.ft Greater Noida workshop and dry-fitted before dispatch, so the on-site install itself is quick. The 2D / 3D layout is delivered within 5 working days of the site survey.
Can I add an island or a breakfast counter to a single wall kitchen later?
Yes. The layout is designed to take a freestanding peninsula or a 1200 to 1800 mm island in front of the wall run if the floor plan allows it. Zumax can rough in the electricals, plumbing and worktop overhang for a future island during the original build, even if you fit the island a year later.
What finishes are available for a single-wall kitchen?
Five core finish families: matte laminate, high-gloss acrylic, PU lacquer, walnut veneer in Bhutan Tuff, and membrane shutters. Laminate is from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch with anti-microbial options. Worktop choices are quartz, granite or laminate. The most common Indian configuration is matte laminate shutters with a quartz worktop. It holds up to daily Indian cooking and is the easiest to keep clean.
Do single wall kitchens have enough storage?
With a full tall unit and ceiling-height upper cabinets, a 12 ft single-wall build carries roughly the same storage as a 9 ft L-shape, around 18 to 22 cubic feet of usable storage. The trick is going vertical: ceiling-height uppers, internal pull-outs in the base cabinets and a 2100 mm tall pantry for dry goods.
Does Zumax install single wall kitchens outside Delhi NCR?
Yes, through Zumax-supervised partner crews. Free delivery, site survey and installation are limited to Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, logistics and install are handled by partner crews and billed as per actuals on the city-level quote. Tier-2 cities add 2 to 3 days to the 15-day lead time. A Zumax site lead supervises bigger projects.
What warranty does Zumax give on a single-wall modular kitchen?
10 years on the kitchen, covering carcass and structural workmanship on install. Replacement parts are stocked at Greater Noida and ship in 7 working days. Service is handled direct from the Greater Noida facility by the Business Coordinator Team on works@zumax.in or +91 8448186120 (call or WhatsApp). No third-party agents handle warranty calls.
Looking after your Zumax single-wall kitchen
Wipe shutter fronts and worktops daily with a soft microfibre cloth and a mild dish-soap solution. Skip abrasive scrubbers, acid-based cleaners and bleach, which dull matte laminate and etch quartz.
Mop spills under the sink cabinet the same day. BWP plywood handles humidity well but standing water at the toe-kick will eventually swell the carcass edge.
Lubricate Hettich drawer runners and hinges with a light silicone spray once every six months. Avoid oil-based lubricants, which collect kitchen dust.
Run the chimney auto-clean cycle every two to three weeks and degrease the baffle filters monthly. A clogged baffle is the single biggest reason a chimney loses suction in an Indian kitchen.
For deep stains on quartz, use a non-abrasive stone cleaner. For laminate scuffs, a melamine sponge with water lifts most marks without dulling the matte finish.
