We start with a free site survey, draft a 2D/3D layout within 5 working days for you to sign off, then build and install in 15 days from order confirmation, subject to site readiness on electrical and plumbing. Hardware is Hettich soft-close on hinges and tandem runners. The carcass is BWP plywood with laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch. Worktops are quartz, granite or marble, cut to template after the carcass goes in. Free delivery and on-site install apply within Delhi NCR. What goes into a Zumax U-shape kitchen
- BWP plywood carcass
- Carcass is BWP plywood sourced from Greenply or Century, edge-banded on all six sides. We use plywood rather than MDF on the wet kitchen floor because it holds screws under load and shrugs off the splash zone around the sink stack.
- Hettich hinges and runners
- Soft-close hinges and tandem drawer runners are Hettich as standard, with Salice, Grass or Blum offered on some lines. Corner carousels and Le Mans pull-outs for the two blind corners are Hettich, included in the build rather than priced as an add-on.
- Quartz, granite or marble worktop
- 20 mm worktop in quartz, granite or marble, sourced through Hafele's stone partner network. Cut to template after the carcass is installed, so the seam lands where the layout actually finishes, not where the catalogue assumed.
- Anti-microbial laminate shutters
- Shutter laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch, with 200+ swatches at our Experience Center in Greater Noida. EN 438 / IS 2046 compliant, so the splash from a daily tadka does not lift the edge band by year three.
- Bhutan Tuff veneer column
- On warm-finish builds, the tall-storage and display column carries veneer sourced from Bhutan Tuff. The veneer is finished with PU lacquer at our workshop, not on site, so the grain reads consistently across the run.
- Saint-Gobain glass on display shutters
- Glass shutters and back-painted display panels use tempered glass from Saint-Gobain or AIS. Tempered rather than annealed, so a slammed shutter or a falling masala dabba does not put a star crack across the panel.

What is the minimum room size for a U-shape modular kitchen in India?
A workable U-shape needs at least 10 ft by 10 ft of clear floor, with 95 to 105 cm of aisle between the two parallel runs. Below that the corners feel cramped and the two-cooks rule breaks. Our site survey flags this on day one, so you don't end up paying for a layout your room won't take.

Yes, provided the room is at least 8 ft by 10 ft and the aisle stays at 95 cm. Our compact white matte U-shape is built for studios and 1BHKs: three working sides, a stainless chimney, and overhead cabinets that run to the ceiling so you don't lose any vertical storage.
What happens to the two corners in a U-shape kitchen?
Both corners get Hettich corner carousels or Le Mans pull-outs as standard, so the dead space behind the L-joint turns into accessible storage. We include them in the build, not as an add-on, because a U-shape without corner solutions wastes the layout you paid for.
Which worktop is best for a U-shape kitchen in India?
Quartz is the default. It shrugs off haldi and tomato stains and does not need annual sealing. Granite is the value pick. Marble looks great in our Forest Green build but needs resealing every 12-18 months. All three come 20 mm thick, cut to template after the carcass is installed.

Looking after your Zumax U-shape kitchen
Wipe shutters and worktop daily with a damp microfibre cloth and a mild dish-soap solution. Skip the abrasive scrub pads and the acidic bathroom cleaners, both of which can dull the laminate sheen and etch a marble or granite finish.
Quartz worktops do not need sealing. Granite and marble want a fresh penetrating seal every 12 to 18 months, and an immediate wipe-down for haldi, lemon or tomato spills so they do not stain into the pores.
Hettich hinges and tandem runners do not need oiling. If a shutter starts dropping, tighten the cam screw a quarter turn. If a drawer drags, lift it off the runner, clear any atta or dal residue from the slide, and refit.
Run the chimney for ten minutes after every cook to clear the moisture in the U so condensation does not settle on the overhead shutters above the hob.
For deep cleaning of corner carousels, lift the trays out, wipe the carousel post with a soft cloth and refit. Replacement parts are stocked at Greater Noida and ship within 7 working days if anything goes.
