Every project starts with a free on-site survey, followed by a free 2D/3D layout within five working days that you sign off on before we cut any board. Worktops are quartz or stone sourced through Hafele's partner stone yard, sitting on BWP plywood carcasses with Hettich soft-close hardware. Free delivery and installation by our own crews within Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, our supervised partner crews handle install and logistics is billed as actuals.

A surveyor arrives across Delhi NCR with a laser distance meter, tablet and a kit of material samples. We measure clear floor area, slab depth, service routing for water, gas and 6/16 A points, and the chimney exhaust path.

Our in-house CAD studio turns the survey into a measured 2D plan and a 3D walkthrough. You see the island walkway clearance, the worktop overhang, the appliance footprint and the shutter palette before any board is cut.

Once the layout is signed off, the Business Coordinator Team sends a written quote inside 24 to 48 hours. The number on that quote is the number on the invoice. No per-square-foot creep after the fact.

Manufacturing runs through our 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Greater Noida, no outsourced sub-assemblies. The island carcass is dry-run with services routed and tested before it leaves the floor. Subject to site readiness on electrical and plumbing.

What goes into a Zumax island kitchen
- BWP plywood carcass
- Carcass boards are BWP plywood from Greenply or Century, edged on all six sides so moisture from the sink run and dishwasher does not creep into the core. The grade is built to handle the wet-zone load that an island carries from four sides.
- Quartz and stone worktops
- Worktops are quartz or sintered stone sourced through Hafele's partner stone yard, mitred to a 40 mm apron over the island. The slab is templated on site after the carcass install, so the seam over the hob cutout lands exactly where the layout shows it.
- Hettich soft-close hardware
- Hinges, tandem drawers and lift-up overheads run on Hettich as the primary spec, with Salice, Grass or Blum on selected lines. Every runner carries full soft-close action and is cycle-tested at the workshop before the unit ships.
- Laminate and veneer shutters
- Shutter surfaces use laminate from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch, including anti-microbial lines on prep-heavy faces, meeting EN 438 / IS 2046. Where the brief calls for walnut, the veneer comes from Bhutan Tuff and is matched across the island front.
- Locks and tempered glass
- Where the island carries lockable storage, the lever lock and bolt set comes from Hafele or Ebco. Display columns and overhead glass shutters use Saint-Gobain or AIS tempered glass, edge-polished and bonded into aluminium profiles.
- Service routing for hob, sink and dishwasher
- The base of the island is cast with sleeves for water, drain, gas and 6/16 A points before it leaves the workshop. The full service run is dry-tested at our 60,000 sq.ft Greater Noida workshop, so the wet hookup on install day is the only live step left.

What is the minimum room size for an island modular kitchen?
We recommend at least 12 ft x 14 ft of clear floor area, so you keep one metre of walkway on all four sides of the island. Anything tighter than that and a peninsula or L-shape will work harder for you. If your room is borderline, our designer marks up the floor plan during the site survey and tells you straight whether to go ahead.
How are Zumax island modular kitchens quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on size, finish, worktop stone and hardware. Send the dimensions and the Business Coordinator Team will revert with a written quote within 24-48 hours. The quote you approve after the 3D layout sign-off is what you pay on the invoice.
Can you put a gas hob and chimney on the island, or only an induction top?
A gas hob works on an island if your building allows ducted exhaust, or you go with a downdraft chimney. We route the gas line through a slab-cut channel and pressure-test it before commissioning. In high-rise apartments where ducting is restricted, induction with a recirculating chimney is the cleaner route.
Which hardware brands do you use on island kitchens?
Hettich is the primary spec for hinges, tandem drawers and lift-up overheads, with Salice, Grass or Blum on selected lines. Locks where required are Hafele or Ebco. No white-label substitutes and no imported showroom models passed off as in-house builds. Drawer runners carry full soft-close action.
How long does it take to build and install an island modular kitchen?
15 days from order confirmation to installation within Delhi NCR, subject to site readiness on electrical and plumbing. Add 2-3 days for Tier-2 cities. Stone worktops are templated on site after the carcass goes in and fitted at the end of the build.
Is an island kitchen suitable for Indian cooking with heavy frying and tadka?
Yes, with two non-negotiables. A chimney with at least 1,200 m3/hr suction sized to your hob, and an easy-clean splashback behind the island hob. We spec quartz or sintered stone tops because they don't absorb oil splatter the way granite can. Worktop overhangs are sealed at the carcass joint so nothing seeps through.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical for the island, or do I need a separate contractor?
We handle the routing and the dry runs. The final wet connections are made by a licensed plumber and electrician on our installation day, coordinated by your project manager. One project manager runs the job end to end. The island arrives with sleeves for water, drain, gas and 6/16 A points already cast into the base.
What is the warranty on a Zumax island kitchen?
10 years on the modular kitchen, covering carcass, sealed boards and structural joinery. Workmanship on install is also covered for 10 years. Stone worktops carry the stone supplier's warranty, which we hand over to you in writing on installation day. Replacement parts are stocked at our Greater Noida workshop and ship within 7 working days.
Looking after your Zumax island kitchen
Wipe shutters and the quartz worktop with a soft damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner. Skip abrasive scrubbers, scouring powder and acidic descalers, they dull the shutter sheen and etch quartz over time.
Mop up oil splatter and tadka spill near the island hob as it happens. Sealed worktop edges hold up well, but pooled oil left overnight will work its way into any open silicone bead.
Run a drop of lubricant on hinges and the drawer runners once a year. Hettich and Blum hardware is sealed, but in a heavy-use kitchen a quick service keeps the soft-close action crisp.
Use the chimney every time the hob is on, and clean the baffle filters every 4 to 6 weeks. A loaded chimney is the single biggest reason shutters near the island hob start showing grime.
