Zumax has built office furniture as one system since 2008: personal lockers, lateral filing cabinets, low credenzas and full-height storwels cut from the same steel coils and laminate sheets as the workstation line, so finish, hardware and proportions match across the floor. Lockers use three-point central locking or cam locks keyed alike across the fleet. Drawers run on Hettich soft-close ball-bearing slides as standard, with Salice, Grass or Blum on selected lines. Made to order at our 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Greater Noida, with own crews delivering and installing across Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, supervised partner crews handle install and logistics are billed as actuals.

What goes into a Zumax office storage line
- 18-gauge CRCA cold-rolled steel body
- Full-height storwels and multi-door lockers are pressed from 18-gauge CRCA cold-rolled steel. The gauge resists door-frame flex over the 20,000-cycle in-house cabinet test we run before shipping.
- 100-hour salt-spray powder coat
- Steel bodies carry a Paramount or AkzoNobel powder-coat, 100-hour salt-spray tested, so the finish holds against monsoon humidity and the dust film an Indian office floor collects. Shade is matched to the workstation pedestal on the project.
- 25 mm BWP plywood carcass
- Wood-bodied credenzas and lateral filing cabinets use 25 mm BWP plywood from Greenply or Century, no MDF-only carcasses on full-height units. Edges are banded to 2 mm so the corner does not chip the year the cleaning trolley clips it.
- Hettich soft-close runners and hinges
- Every drawer rides on Hettich soft-close ball-bearing runners as standard, not as an upgrade. Concealed hinges on credenza shutters are Hettich on the standard line, with Salice, Grass or Blum on selected projects when the spec calls for it.
- Hafele or Ebco lock set with three-point throw
- Full-height storwels ship with a three-point central locking mechanism from Hafele or Ebco, throwing bolts at the top, middle and bottom of the door from a single key. Personal lockers use a Hafele or Ebco cam lock, keyed alike across the fleet on request.
- Laminate, HPL and Bhutan Tuff veneer skins
- Shutter and carcass skins are HPL, laminate sourced from Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch, or walnut veneer from Bhutan Tuff. All laminate carries EN 438 / IS 2046 reference, and the batch is matched to the workstations on the same project.

How are Zumax office lockers quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on door count, body material (CRCA steel, HPL on ply, or veneer) and lock type. Send the floor plan and headcount, and the Business Coordinator Team will revert with a written quote in 24 to 48 hours. A free 2D or 3D layout follows within 5 working days of the survey.
What is the difference between a lateral filing cabinet and a vertical filing cabinet?
A vertical filing cabinet is deeper than it is wide and holds files front-to-back, which works when you have wall depth but no floor width. A lateral cabinet is wider than it is deep and holds files side-by-side, so every file is visible the moment you open the drawer. Lateral units are the standard for Indian open-plan offices because they double as a low credenza behind a workstation cluster.
Do Zumax lockers come with a three-point lock?
Full-height storwels and tall cabinets ship with three-point central locking as standard. A single key throws bolts at the top, middle and bottom of the door, which is the spec used in banks and IT offices. Personal lockers use a cam lock from Hafele or Ebco, and the whole fleet can be keyed alike on request so facilities holds one master key.
How many doors should a staff locker have?
Size the door count by floor headcount and the locker bay you have. The standard runs are 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 door units. IT and BPO floors usually take 12 or 18 door stacks because each employee needs a personal compartment for laptop, lunch and bag. We size the bay around 600 mm of wall per locker stack.
What material are the lockers and storage cabinets built from?
Steel lockers use CRCA mild steel with a Paramount or AkzoNobel powder-coat, 100-hour salt-spray tested. Wood-bodied lockers and credenzas use a 25 mm BWP plywood carcass from Greenply or Century with HPL, laminate (Marino, Greenlam or Royal Touch) or Bhutan Tuff veneer skin, and 2 mm edge banding. Both options carry Hettich hinges and runners, with locks from Hafele or Ebco, quoted by part number on the RFP.
Can the storage finish match our workstations and conference tables?
Yes, and that is the point of buying the storage from the same supplier. We cut the storage carcass and doors from the same laminate, HPL or veneer batch as the workstations and tables on the project, so the handle, lock face and edge profile read as one system on the floor.
What is the lead time for made-to-order office storage?
Lockers and institutional storage ship in 15 days from order confirmation. Tier-2 city deliveries add 2 to 3 days. Free delivery and on-site install by Zumax own crews applies within Delhi NCR. Outside NCR, supervised partner crews handle install and logistics are billed as actuals.
What warranty applies to Zumax office storage?
Two years on manufacturing defects under normal commercial use, backed by the in-house Zumax service team. Replacement parts are stocked at the Greater Noida workshop and ship in 7 working days.
Do you supply lockers for cafeteria, shop floor or shared-desk zones?
Yes. The multi-compartment steel locker ships in 12, 15, 18 and 24 door configurations with colour-coded doors for cafeteria and shop-floor use. The bench-locker variant adds a seat with a shoe and bag compartment underneath for changing rooms and gym blocks inside larger campuses.
Looking after your Zumax office storage
Wipe down powder-coated steel lockers with a damp microfiber cloth and a mild detergent. Skip abrasive scrubbers, scouring pads and any cleaner with chlorine bleach since they cut into the salt-spray coat.
Lubricate the Hafele or Ebco three-point lock mechanism with a dry graphite spray once every six months, especially in coastal offices. Avoid wet oils that pick up dust and gum up the bolt throw.
Vacuum the Hettich ball-bearing runners on lateral filing drawers twice a year to clear paper dust. A dry slide is a soft-close slide; a clogged one starts to drag.
Clean laminate and Bhutan Tuff veneer credenza tops with a barely damp cloth, then dry off. Use coasters under coffee mugs and avoid parking water bottles on the veneer edge overnight.
Tighten visible cam locks and handle screws once a year during the AMC visit. Replacement parts are stocked at the Greater Noida workshop and ship in 7 working days if a unit needs a swap.
