Zumax, founded in 2008, builds made-to-order soft-seating sets for Indian offices out of a 60,000 sq.ft workshop in Greater Noida. The range spans a single marigold velvet tub chair through to a six-seater channel-tufted U-sectional and full modular wraparound benches for atrium lobbies. Frames are engineered hardwood with sinuous-spring or pocketed-spring seat bases. Cushions use high-resilience and memory-blend foam densities chosen per seat application. Upholstery options include commercial-grade fabric, bouclé, leatherette, channel velvet and full-grain leather. Lead time is 15 days from order confirmation. Delivery and on-site installation are free across Delhi NCR with the in-house Zumax crew. Outside NCR, supervised partner crews handle install and logistics are billed as actuals. A 2-year warranty on manufacturing defects is standard, with a re-upholstery service from year five onward.

Named hardware and finishes
Powder coat is Paramount or AkzoNobel, tested to 100-hour salt-spray. Upholstery is quoted with a Martindale rub count, and fabric grades are mapped against the seat application so the spec sheet survives an RFP review.
2-year manufacturing cover plus re-upholstery
Two years on manufacturing defects covers the frame, joinery, foam density and spring suspension. From year five, the re-upholstery service keeps the original frame and swaps the skin, so the piece does not get thrown out.
NCR own crew, 10-year workmanship cover
Delivery and on-site assembly inside Delhi NCR are handled by the in-house Zumax crew on payroll. The install carries a 10-year workmanship cover, with supervised partner crews on outside-NCR jobs.

The workshop is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, with GreenGuard and FSC documentation available on the lines that carry them. GeM, BIS and BIFMA paperwork is shared with bulk procurement teams on request.

The in-house CAD studio renders the soft-seating arrangement in plan and elevation, with finishes mapped to the Marindale-rated fabric you have shortlisted. Revisions are included until the layout reads right.

- Frames are built from kiln-dried engineered hardwood with hand-finished joinery and internal corner blocks at every load-bearing junction. The frame carries the 2-year manufacturing-defect cover and is what the re-upholstery service rebuilds onto from year five.
- Sinuous-spring or pocketed-spring suspension
- Seat bases run sinuous-spring or pocketed-spring suspension, not webbing-only, so the front rail does not collapse by year two. Spring gauge is chosen against expected daily footfall on the seat.
- High-resilience seat foam
- Cushions use high-resilience and memory-blend foam densities specified per seat application, with denser blocks reserved for reception and lobby pieces that get sat on a hundred times a week. Foam recovery is checked at the workshop before upholstery is fitted.
- Commercial-grade upholstery with Martindale rating
- Upholstery options span commercial-grade fabric, bouclé, channel velvet, leatherette and full-grain leather. Martindale rub counts are quoted per fabric on the spec sheet, with a 30,000-cycle minimum recommended for shared reception sofas.
- Powder-coated steel and metal hardware
- Sled bases and metal feet are finished in Paramount or AkzoNobel powder coat, tested to 100-hour salt-spray, with brushed brass, satin-steel and solid hardwood leg options on the catalogue. Hardware sits within the 2-year manufacturing-defect cover.

- Every soft-seating piece is built at the 60,000 sq.ft Greater Noida workshop, which is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. Founders are on the shop floor weekly and one project manager owns the order end-to-end.

What is soft seating in an office?
Soft seating is the upholstered furniture category. It covers sofas, lounge chairs, tub chairs and modular benches, basically anything in the office that is not a task chair or a meeting chair. In an Indian office, it lives in reception bays, atrium lobbies, CEO cabins, executive break rooms and creative-team breakout zones. The build priorities are different from a task chair: frame longevity, foam recovery and fabric abrasion resistance matter more than the tilt mechanism.
How are Zumax office sofas quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on frame size, foam density, leg material and upholstery choice (commercial fabric, bouclé, channel velvet or full-grain leather). What fabric is best for an office reception sofa?
For shared reception use, specify upholstery with a Martindale abrasion rating of at least 30,000 cycles. That is the minimum commercial-grade standard for a piece visitors sit in daily. Leatherette and full-grain leather wipe down easily for high-footfall lobbies. Bouclé and channel velvet look more design-led for boutique receptions, but they want a higher Martindale on the cushion face. Zumax quotes the cycle count per fabric on the spec sheet.
What is the lead time for a made-to-order office sofa?
Standard lead time is 15 days from order confirmation, shipped from the Greater Noida workshop. Tier-2 city deliveries add 2 to 3 days on top. Written quotes turn around in 24 to 48 hours, and a 2D or 3D layout for a reception or lobby set lands within 5 working days of the site survey.
Do you deliver and install soft seating outside Delhi NCR?
Yes, anywhere in India. Delivery and on-site installation are free within Delhi NCR, handled by the in-house Zumax crew on payroll. Outside NCR, Zumax-supervised partner crews handle the install and logistics are billed as actuals through third-party transport. Average on-site time is 60 minutes for a 2 or 3-seater, and 3 to 4 hours for a full modular bench arrangement.
What warranty applies to a Zumax soft-seating piece?
Two years on manufacturing defects covering the frame, joinery, foam density and spring suspension. Normal wear on the cushion face is handled through the re-upholstery service from year five onward.
Do you offer re-upholstery on Zumax sofas after a few years?
Yes. The re-upholstery service is offered on every Zumax sofa from year five. We keep the original frame and suspension, replace the foam where needed, and re-cover in the original fabric or a fresh selection. Re-upholstery is quoted on request once we inspect the piece and confirm the fabric grade. Can I order tub chairs or lounge chairs as a set?
Yes. Sets are how most of the catalogue is built. The Halo Cream Tub Chair ships as a 4-piece set, the Indigo Cube-Frame ships as a 6-piece set, the Sage Wing-Back is a 4-piece configurable up to 8, and several singles (Marigold Velvet Tub, Cocoa Bowl Lounge) are quoted in sets of 1, 3, 5 or 7. Mix-and-match upholstery across a set is available on request.
Looking after your Zumax soft-seating piece
Vacuum fabric, bouclé and channel-velvet cushions weekly with an upholstery-brush attachment to lift dust before it settles into the weave.
Spot-clean stains with a soft cloth and a mild upholstery cleaner, blotting from the edge inward. Skip abrasive scrubs and household bleach, both shorten the fabric life.
Wipe leatherette and full-grain leather seats with a damp microfibre cloth and condition the leather every six months to stop hairline cracking at the seat fold.
Rotate seat and back cushions monthly so the high-resilience foam compresses evenly across the seat width and the cushion face wears at the same rate.
Keep the piece out of direct afternoon sun, which fades bouclé and velvet pile, and book the re-upholstery service from year five when the cushion face starts to shine.
