L-shape
The L shape modular kitchen is what most Indian flats actually need. Two perpendicular walls carry the sink, hob and fridge, the third side stays open to the living room, and the corner that usually goes to waste becomes a pull-out you will actually use. Zumax builds each L around your real floor plan. A surveyor comes to your flat, measures the walls, and only then do we draw the 3D layout for you to approve. Cabinets are cut to the millimetre at our Greater Noida unit. Carcasses are 18 mm BWR ply, hinges are Hettich or Hafele soft-close, and the worktop is quartz, granite or a premium laminate. You can pick from three finishes already on this page (high-gloss grey, latte matte, teal shaker) or open a made-to-order build if you want a different palette.

L-shape — common questions
Short, specific answers from the Zumax workshop and install team.
How are Zumax L shape modular kitchens quoted?
Pricing is project-specific and shared after the site survey, since it depends on size, finish, and hardware. Send the dimensions and we will revert with a written quote within one working day. Every quote is itemised line by line, with door finish, worktop material, hardware brand and appliance integrations listed separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Is an L shaped kitchen good for a small 2BHK flat?
Yes. It is the most space-efficient layout for kitchens between 60 and 120 sq ft, which covers most Indian 2BHK plans. The L uses both adjacent walls, keeps the third side clear, and holds the work triangle under 6 metres as IS 4963 recommends. More than half the kitchens we have built in Delhi NCR and Mumbai are L layouts.
What is the minimum size needed for an L shape modular kitchen?
The shorter arm needs at least 1.5 metres (5 ft) and the longer arm 2.4 metres (8 ft) to fit hob, sink, fridge and a real prep zone. Below that, a single-wall layout is the more honest answer. Above 4 metres on the long arm, you may be better off with a U-shape or peninsula.
Which hinges and channels does Zumax use on the L shape range?
Hettich or Hafele on every build. Sensys soft-close hinges rated to 80,000 cycles, Quadro or equivalent tandem drawer channels, full extension. The magic corner unit in the L joint is also Hettich or Hafele, depending on what is in stock when the order goes in. The brand is named on the BoQ before you sign.
What is the lead time for an L shape modular kitchen in Delhi NCR?
Roughly 4 to 6 weeks from final design sign-off to an installed kitchen in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad take 5 to 7 weeks because of inter-state freight. Site survey to 3D layout takes 5 working days.
Can the corner be used as storage in an L shape kitchen?
Yes, that is the whole point of going with an L. We fit a Hettich or Hafele magic corner (a pull-out tray that swings out of the corner cabinet) or a Le-Mans carousel as standard. No dead zone, no awkward reach into the back. The corner holds up to 35 kg of utensils and dry goods.
What worktop material is best for an Indian L shape kitchen — quartz or granite?
Both work, and most clients end up mixing them. Granite handles heat well and shrugs off stains, which matters when you are cooking with tadka and steam every day. Engineered quartz is non-porous, joins almost invisibly on long L runs, and resists turmeric staining better than granite. Most Zumax clients pick quartz for the long arm and granite around the hob, which gives you the easy-clean run for prep and a tougher heat-tolerant zone at the cooking station.
Does Zumax install L shape kitchens in Mumbai and Bangalore, or only Delhi NCR?
We deliver and install in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh and most Tier-2 metros. The install crew travels with the consignment. Warranty (10 years on the carcass, 5 years on hardware) is the same across India.
