Delivery and on-site fitting across Delhi NCR are handled by Zumax crew on our own payroll. The powder coat is 100-hour salt-spray tested and frames clear a 20,000-cycle in-house test before they leave the floor.

For NCR addresses, a surveyor visits with a laser distance meter, tablet, and powder-coat swatches. For other cities we work off photographs and dimensions you share, with measurements re-confirmed before fabrication.

Free 2D layout in 5 working days
Our in-house CAD studio drafts a 2D layout of the almirah inside, with shelf heights, locker placement, and the powder-coat colour called out. Tweak it as many times as you like; there is no design fee.

Once the layout is signed off, the Business Coordinator Team sends a written quote covering body, hardware, finish, delivery, and fitting. The number is locked in writing before any sheet is cut.

What goes into a Zumax steel almirah
- 18-gauge CRCA body
- The shell and doors are pressed from 18-gauge cold-rolled close-annealed steel. CRCA holds shape under repeated open-close loads and gives us a clean substrate for the powder coat, which is why our frames clear the 20,000-cycle in-house test.
- Paramount / AkzoNobel powder coat
- Bodies are zinc-phosphated, then two-coat powder painted using Paramount or AkzoNobel paint. The finish is tested to a 100-hour salt-spray standard, so monsoon humidity and the odd splash from a bucket bath do not pit the surface.
- Hafele or Ebco lever lock + bolt set
- Every almirah ships with a triple-lock as standard: a central lever lock plus two steel bolts that engage at the top and bottom of the door. The lever lock and bolt set is sourced from Hafele or Ebco, and keys are supplied in pairs that can be keyed alike across multiple units.
- Hettich soft-close hinges (upgrade)
- Standard hinges are heavy-duty almirah hinges rated for the cycle count. If you want the doors to fall shut quietly, Hettich soft-close hinges are available as a paid upgrade and are specified at the quote stage.
- Saint-Gobain or AIS mirror
- Door-mounted full-length mirrors use Saint-Gobain or AIS sheet glass, edge-finished and backed with a moisture-resistant board. The mirror sits flush in a recessed channel so it does not work loose during a move.
- 20,000-cycle frame test
- Before sign-off, frames are loaded onto an in-house rig and cycled to 20,000 open-close repetitions. The check is run by our QC team, not a third-party lab, and any build that develops play in the hinge line is sent back to the floor.

Yes. Full-length door mirrors, dedicated locker compartments, drawer banks, jewellery trays, and adjustable shelves are all configurable. The interior layout is drawn up during the free design consultation and confirmed on the quote before fabrication.
What is the difference between a double door and triple door almirah?
A double-door almirah fits a 4 to 4.5 ft wall section and is the default for shared bedrooms. A triple-door build is roughly 5.5 to 6 ft wide, adds a third bay for full-length kurtas, sarees, and suit bags, and includes a wider locker shelf. Go triple-door if you store full-length garments or share the unit between two people.
How do I clean and maintain a steel almirah?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth weekly. For stains, use a mild detergent on a damp cloth and dry the surface immediately. Avoid acid-based cleaners and steel wool on the powder-coat finish. Once a year, lubricate the hinges with a single drop of light machine oil.
Does Zumax deliver almirahs outside Delhi NCR?
Free delivery and on-site assembly by Zumax crew cover Delhi NCR only. Outside NCR, orders are shipped via Zumax-supervised partner logistics and billed as actuals. Tier-2 destinations typically add 2 to 3 days over the standard lead time.
What warranty do I get with a Zumax almirah?
A flat 10-year warranty on the almirah, covering body, powder-coat, and locking hardware. Workmanship on install is also covered for 10 years. Replacement parts are stocked at our Greater Noida workshop and ship within 7 working days.
Looking after your Zumax steel almirah
Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth once a week. For stubborn marks, use a mild detergent on a damp cloth and dry the panel off straight after.
Skip acid-based cleaners, kitchen scouring powder, and steel wool on the powder-coat finish. They strip the top coat and expose the zinc-phosphate underneath.
Once a year, put a single drop of light machine oil on each hinge pin and work the door back and forth. Same drill for the lever lock cylinder.
Keep the inside dry. Drop in a couple of silica sachets at the back of the locker shelf if you live near the coast or run an AC-less bedroom through the monsoon.
